10 Things That Can Affect Your Fertility

Research from the National Institutes of Health shows that a man’s weight matters as much as a woman’s. The study, published on Feb. 3 in the journal Human Reproduction, found it may take couples in which both partners are obese up to 59% longer to get pregnant compared to couples in the healthy weight range.

A 2014 study published in Human Reproduction looked at about 400 couples over a 12-month span and found that women who had the highest levels of alpha-amylase, a stress biomarker, had twice the risk of being infertile compared to those with the lowest levels. The researchers note that they couldn’t determine exactly why stress lowers fertility, but they do suggest that if you’re trying to conceive, practicing yoga, meditation, or mindfulness may help balance out frazzled feelings.

Researchers say that exercising ultra-hard may have an impact on ovulation or implantation. If you’re having trouble getting pregnant, it may make sense to take the HIIT down a notch. You also might want to check your weight; just as excess body fat can impact fertility, so can not having enough of it.

You’re watching too much TV:

men who watched more than 20 hours of TV per week had a 44% lower sperm concentration compared to those who watched no TV. Trade some of that time for the gym: Men who exercised more than 15 hours a week had a 73% higher sperm concentration.

You eat a lot of processed meat:

The more processed red meat a guy eats (hot dogs, burgers, bacon, salami), the lower his sperm count and the slower those sperm swam, revealed research in the journal Epidemiology in 2014.

Your iPhone’s in your pocket:

A 2014 meta-analysis found that cellphone exposure was linked to weaker sperm. It may be the radio-frequency electromagnetic radiation emitted from phones that damages DNA and impairs sperm’s ability to fertilize an egg. Mobile devices may also heat up a guy’s testicles when stashed in a pocket, which can hinder sperm production.

You’re having too much sex:

Going at it too often can drop a guy’s sperm count too much. You can turn to a timing app on your phone or use a drugstore ovulation kit, but there are a few physical signs women can look for as well, your sex drive might go up, the veins on your breasts might look bluer, and you might have more vaginal discharge.

You’re not having enough sex:

Having sex sends a signal to a woman’s body that, basically, it’s go time. Her immune system then shifts from one focused on battling illness to one primed for reproduction, suggests a 2015 study published in Fertility and Sterility. Just a little something to keep in mind no matter what day of the month it is.

You’re a smoker:

Lighting up causes up to 13% of all infertility cases, according to the American Society of Reproductive Medicine. Smoking ages ovaries and depletes egg supply in women, and is linked to low sperm count in men.

Common Sex Injuries You Need To Know About

Sex is supposed to be pleasurable and injuries are the last thing on your mind when you engage in it. Well, it’s time you know that there are indeed situations when sex can get downright hazardous. Sex injuries happen much more often than you think.

Read on to know 9 common sex injuries and their solution so that you know what to do when it occurs (you never know!)

VAGINAL TEARS: Vaginal tears are painful. In severe cases, they can also cause bleeding and infection. Vaginal tears usually happen when your girl is not lubricated enough.

ANAL TEARS: Anal tears also happen due to the same reason, lack of lubrication. Anal isn’t self-lubricating and thus needs an artificial lube if you are engaging in anal sex. Anal tears can be more harmful than vaginal tears as anus has more harmful bacteria.

SORENESS IN VAGINA: Soreness in the vagina after a sizzling hot session with your partner is very common. Soaking in lube warm water can help ease vaginal soreness, achiness and stinging. A lot of rapid thrusting and a rough session can be the reason behind the same. A painkiller can be taken in case of extreme pain or the best is to
go and consult your doctor.

PENILE FRACTURE: A penis cannot exactly be fractured as it has no bones. Penile fracture happens when an erect penis is bent forcefully, which breaks the blood-filled chambers inside. Penile fracture is a rare sex injury and happens mostly when the women is on the top. Maybe now you want to rethink being on the top.

MUSCLE CRAMPS: Sex is a physical activity which definitely can lead to muscle cramps. The body parts mostly cramped during the sexual intercourse are legs and thighs (you know why). Walk around, stretch or maybe take a painkiller if you can’t bear the pain. Change position so that your body doesn’t have to remain in one position which can lead to cramps.

HEART ATTACK: The most serious sex injury is heart attack. Having sex demands you to be fit, especially if you like experimenting. If you feel your partner is experiencing any kind of discomfort (chest pain, dizziness, breathlessness), play it safe

Stop the Spread of Rumors on WhatsApp

With social media breaking grounds and exceeding its reach every day, the modern world has opened its eye to a new world of possibilities.

Remarkable are the achievements of Facebook which has completely taken over the digital and real world, on the dark side though, social media has been a platform for spread of fake news which has had major consequences in the past.

Recently, WhatsApp-based rumors have led to increasing instances of mob lynching in India. Two men were hacked to death in Tripura, and eleven lynchings have taken place over the past two months alone. All due to rumors spread on WhatsApp.

This is what you should do to stop the spread of rumors or fake messages on WhatsApp:

1) Only admins post responsibly in WhatsApp groups:

This feature lets only admins to post in groups, stopping the flow of potential fake or inflammatory messages from rest of the members.

2) Watch out for Forwarded message labels:

This should give you or anyone else who encounters a forwarded message in a WhatsApp group to take it with a major pinch of salt.

3) Trust messages from trusted people:

If you are seeing controversial posts being posted by people you don’t know in a WhatsApp group, alert the admins of the group

4) Say something if you know a message to be fake:

Not doing anything is almost the same as encouraging the spread of rumors on WhatsApp.

5) Spread the correct story or message:

Not only will you kill the original rumor, but possibly start spreading the correct or right message.

6) Dont get personal or emotional:

Debunk the message, not the messenger.

7) Stay alert:

This is especially important if you’re an admin of a public WhatsApp group. Lay down the rules and enforce them.

Social Media Day: 5 Dangerous Habits You Must Quit

Stop being too public, take privacy seriously:

Sharing everything with everybody is not a clever thing to do. All social media sites give the option to
limit post viewing to specific audiences. Take the time to explore these settings, try different options to
suit the best privacy setting.

Stop being ‘friends’ with everyone:

Make sure you know the people you add on social media, in real life if possible. Don’t hesitate to use the
“block” feature when the situation seems to call for it.

Stop being too personal:

Keep as much of your profile private as you can and think twice before posting every aspect of your life

Stop being logged-on always on PC:

If you are using a public computer, make it a ritual to log out—and log out of private devices
from time to time as well. Logging out helps ensure that other people won’t snoop your social
media profile

Stop using common passwords for all social media platforms:

It’s a pain, but it is also absolutely essential that you don’t use the same password for Twitter as you do
for, say, Facebook, Instagram and other social media websites. When you use one password for multiple
services, you’re only as safe as the least secure service you use.

This Is What Happens When You Stop Having Sex

SEXUAL DRIVE: Not having sex may impact your sex drive. Here, masturbation can do the trick and you will be able to keep your sex drive alive. Women may not get affected as much as it affects men. This is because like any other muscle in the body, if you don’t make your penis ‘exercise’ for a long duration, you may even experience erectile dysfunction.

WEAKENING OF VAGINAL WALLS: This mainly happens to older women who are above the age of 50. Due to lack of blood flow, vaginal walls tend to become weak and thin. Dry spell for a longer duration at an older age may also increase the risk of not feeling any sexual pleasure during intercourse.

IMMUNE SYSTEM: As sexual activity helps in boosting immunity, especially in women, not getting busy every day can make you prone to illnesses and other infections.

STRESS: Sex is one of the best stress busters. Health experts say that regular sex is associated with stress-busting and when you don’t have it, it can lead to higher stress reactions.

SEX-ABSTINENCE WILL NOT MAKE YOU TIGHTER: This is a prevalent myth that not having sex can make you tighter down there. The elasticity of your vagina doesn’t depend on the number of sexual partners or frequency of sexual sessions you have had and you don’t get re-virginized when you abstain from sexual activity. It should be noted that when you don’t have sex, the tissues of the vagina just may get
out of the habit of relaxing in response to arousal or insertion.

CARDIOVASCULAR HEALTH: Health experts say that good sex life is related to a healthy cardiovascular system. And when you enter sex drought, it may impact those hormones that are good for heart health.

UTIs AND STDs: So, here’s some good news. Sexual abstinence can reduce the risk of UTIs and STDs as there is no physical contact with another person.

There is no coherent philosophy or plan for the “good” world Tories hope to bring about by pursuing evil, destructive policies – because they don’t value good things at all. Instead, the Tories are just evil because they like being evil, and to this extent think that it is good. Perhaps they are all committed Nietzscheans, and as such conceive life as an endless struggle by the powerful to express their will over the powerless. As the self-consciously powerful, the “natural party of government”, the Tories will always actively want to do things that seem – to weak people like us, with our “slave morality” – like they’re bad.

Kundalini is described by American comparative religions scholar Joseph Campbell as a latent female energy that lies coiled at the base of the spine. Kiki guides into a position that she says will “raise” hers. she had heard of kundalini yoga before. With her arms at my side and my head and legs raised six inches off the floor when she’s talked through a few to visualizations that Kiki says will help later on. Another exercise entails gazing into each other’s eyes—an intense experience with anyone, let alone a witchy stranger in a bikini—and culminates with each of us placing our palms over the other’s heart and taking turns “shooting energy” into each other.

Kiki was so impossibly kind and lovely toward her that she may have convinced her to feel something, but in truth, she was just psyched to be locking bodies with another nearly naked person.

Gaming Addiction A Mental Disorder, Says World Health Organisation

Addiction to digital and video gaming has been classified as a mental health disorder by the World Health Organization (WHO) in its new International Classification of Diseases (ICD). The agency described the addiction as a pattern of persistent or recurrent gaming behavior; that becomes so extensive it takes precedence over other life interests.

The classification is aimed at alerting health professionals and systems to the existence of this condition and ensuring that people suffering from these conditions can get appropriate help.

The gaming behavior takes precedence over other activities to the extent those other activities is pushed to the periphery. If the condition leads to significant distress and impairment in personal, familial, social, educational or occupational functioning, Gaming disorder can lead to disturbed sleep patterns, diet problems and deficiency in physical activities.

Not only gaming, but even Facebook over usage and Instagram over usage, must be classified as a mental disorder. "Families have stopped bonding leading to isolated adolescents. Alertness is also poor because of over exposure to harmful radiation from screen exposure;

After the fractured mandate in Karnataka, Kerala tourism offers ‘safe and beautiful’ resorts to MLAs

As political parties in Karnataka look all set to ensnare MLAs from rival factions to prove a majority in Karnataka assembly, which delivered a split verdict earlier today, Kerala Tourism has invited the MLAs to “unwind” at the safe and beautiful resorts in its state.

“After the rough and tumble of the #KarnatakaVerdict, we invite all the MLAs to unwind at the safe and beautiful resorts of God’s Own Country. #ComeOutAndPlay (sic),” Kerala Tourism tweeted. However later in the evening the tweet was deleted.

The tweet came shortly after it became apparent that no single party will be able to reach the majority mark in the Karnataka assembly elections. Thus the split verdict gave rise to speculations that MLAs would be lured by their rival parties to complete the numbers.

Google doodle celebrates legendary dancer Mrinalini Sarabhai

Today’s Google Doodle celebrates the 100th birth anniversary of legendary dancer and Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri recipient Mrinalini Sarabhai.

Born on May 11, 1918 in Kerala, Sarabhai trained in Bharatnatyam, Kathakali and Mohiniyattom.
“One of the few classical dancers trained in more than one form, Sarabhai was able to quickly build a career in choreography and teaching. Despite seeing the continuous evolution of dance forms over her multi-decade career, she was inspired to choreograph more than three hundred dance dramas with a strong base of classical tradition behind them,” wrote the Google blog post.

To “to share the craft with future generations,” Sarabhai and her husband Dr Vikram Sarabhai – who is considered to be the Father of the Indian Space Programme – opened the Darpana Academy of Performing Arts in 1949.

“The small dance academy grew to become not only a study centre for diverse art forms but one that used the power of arts to bring about positive change to the critical issues facing society,” it added.
She was awarded the Padma Shri in 1965 and Padma Bhushan in 1992.

Mrinalini Sarabhai passed away at the age of 97 in January 2016.
