Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) faced a heart-wrenching 1-run loss against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata, triggering a post-match uproar centered around Virat Kohli’s controversial dismissal.

In the footage, the umpire seemed to clarify the rationale behind Kohli’s dismissal, while the star batter appeared to discuss his batting stance and the interpretation of the full-toss delivery.

This incident sparked widespread debate among experts and fans, with some questioning the umpiring decision and others defending it as a fair call by Rana, noting Kohli’s position relative to the crease.

Reflecting on the controversy, RCB skipper Faf du Plessis emphasized the importance of adhering to the rules, acknowledging the differing perspectives within the teams regarding the delivery’s height.

Despite the setback, Kohli’s stellar performance throughout the IPL 2024 season remains noteworthy, leading the race for the Orange Cap with 379 runs, boasting a century and two fifties at an impressive average of 63.16 in eight matches.

However, RCB’s dismal form sees them languishing at the bottom of the points table, effectively eliminating them from playoff contention after suffering their seventh consecutive defeat in the ongoing campaign.
