A fire erupted at a flat in Sector 50 during the early hours of Wednesday, prompting accusations from the owner, Sanjay Aggarwal, regarding the delayed response of the fire department, which he claimed resulted in property damage.

According to Aggarwal, the fire broke out around 3:30 am, startling residents from their sleep. Upon realizing the severity of the situation, they rushed outside to find the building engulfed in flames.

Aggarwal asserted that the fire department’s delayed arrival exacerbated the situation, allowing the fire to spread to four rooms within the building. However, Sunil Kumar Singh, the Chief Fire Officer of Gautam Budh Nagar, countered Aggarwal’s claims, citing official records that indicated they were informed about the incident at 4:15 am, and fire tenders promptly arrived at the scene by 4:28 am.

Singh emphasized that the fire department’s response time was within acceptable limits and attributed any delay to the time it took for the victim to notify the authorities.

Upon arrival, firefighters found only a minor blaze, suggesting that the fire had largely subsided by then, and they were able to swiftly contain it.
