Cricketing star Virat Kohli never fails to impress the audience over with his top-class performance on-field. He actively keeps a tab on his fitness regimes, as is evident from his social media feed. The Royal Challengers Bangalore captain associates himself with brands that are health-conscious. Therefore, it came across as a surprise for many of his fans when reports regarding Virat’s health emerged online.
RCB’s loss in recent games has understandably resulted in some anger and frustration from the fans. However, some have gone a step ahead and questioned the fitness of Kohli.
In response, Virat Kohli inked an open letter.
So, I believe recent pictures of me have been making the rounds for all the wrong reasons. I have received some very confused messages from my fellow fitness enthusiasts and fans.
Tune in to the 1st strategic timeout of the 8 pm IPL match tonight, and I assure you, you will have answers to your questions.
Before I reveal my reasons, I would like to mention that I have always been, and will continue to be very vocal and passionate about the importance of eating healthy. Every individual has his own fitness level and I strongly believe we must do what works best for our bodies. Personally, I love to eat home-cooked meals whenever possible but my guilty pleasure is chips! Which is why you have seen me bingeing on them of late.
I understand, and truly appreciate your concern for my health, but I assure you that my fitness regimen has not gone for a toss (pun intended).
What’s changed? I’ve found my guilt-free timeout.
Well, Virat Kohli is the brand ambassador for Too Yumm chips, the packaged snacking brand of RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group. Too Yumm is promoted as a healthy snack. Virat’s post certainly talks about chips and how he has found a healthy way to eat them so it seems it is just a brand promotion tweet from the skipper.
Looking forward to hear from Virat Kohli when he will tune in.
Bollywood’s diva Anushka Sharma always manage to have something special for his husband Virat Kohli and this time she just posted a cute message after RCB’s win over KXIP.
Not only Anushka but Virat too knows how to give surprises to her wife and he came up with a perfect response to Anushka’s message.
Virat Kohli and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) lived to fight another day as their win over Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) ensured that the team remained in contention for a playoff spot. Recently, Anushka Sharma posted a picture wearing a T-shirt of Virat Kohli’s name, post RCB’S victory over KXIP, Kohli had the perfect reply for the Bollywood actress.
Anushka Sharma has been a regular at most of RCB’s matches in IPL 2018 but could not be present as RCB faced Punjab in a do-or-die match at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore on Monday night.
According to reports, Anushka Sharma is currently in the United States shooting for her film ‘Zero’, which also stars Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif.
But the actress left no stones unturned to boost the morale of the team, posting regular messages on Instagram stories as Virat Kohli and team ran riot in Indore.
KL Rahul and Chris Gayle got Punjab off to a good start but following Rahul’s departure chaos ensued as the hosts lost their next nine wickets for 52 runs. KXIP were bowled out for a paltry 88 with Umesh Yadav picking up three wickets.

CSK skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni sent the crowd cheering by having a bit of fun with Ravindra Jadeja during the game.
CSK comeback in Indian Premier League after 2 years has been on a roll. They have surprised one and all have churned out consistent performances throughout the tournament. On Sunday, in a match against table-toppers Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chennai produced another magical effort which secured their playoff berth. Chasing a stiff target of 180, Chennai got home in 19 overs, riding on Ambati Rayudu’s maiden IPL ton.
The biggest reason for Chennai’s success this season could be attributed to skipper MS Dhoni’s consistency. The captain cool seems to be enjoying his time in the middle. During the first innings of the match, the lighter-side of Dhoni was on full display. In a Harbhajan Singh over, Shikhar Dhawan just guided the ball on the leg-side for a single. Dhoni run quickly to field the ball, while Ravindra Jadeja came in running from deep mid-wicket. Seeing Jadeja coming towards him, Dhoni pretended to throw the ball towards him, which caught Jadeja by surprise. The incident left everyone in splits.
After the match, CSK all-rounder Dwayne Bravo said, “Our bowlers bowled very well today. Both Shikhar and Williamson played well but we pulled it back in the end. At a crucial time we got their wickets. Most of the times I come around 12-13 overs so I go for runs. I am a wicket-taking bowler that’s why my economy is very high. It’s a challenge to bowl and I enjoy it.”
Former Australian Captain, Steve Smith and David Warner were recently banned for a year as they were caught doing ball-tampering during the Capetown Test in March 2018.
After that match, Steve Smith was found emotional in the press conference where he sobbingly apologises for his mistake to his country and cricket fraternity. Recently he uploaded a picture with his fiancée Dani Willis and wrote, “It’s great to be back home in Australia. I have had some time away to come to terms with everything and now it’s time to get back into it. The amount of emails and letters I have received has been incredible and I have been extremely humbled by the enormous amount of support you have given me. I now have a lot to do to earn back your trust. To my Mum, Dad and Dani you have been my rock through this and I can’t thank you enough. Family is the most important thing in the world and I thank you for your love and support.”
The former Australian captain and vice-captain David Warner were both suspended for 12 months for their role in the ball tampering incident in Cape Town in March this year during the Test series against South Africa. Opening batsman Cameron Bancroft was also banned for nine months.
“To see the way my old man’s been…it hurts. I just want to say I’m sorry for the pain that I’ve brought to Australia and the fans and the public, it’s devastating and I’m truly sorry,” a gutted Smith had said.
Both Smith and Warner were also banned from playing the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018.
David Warner, who was the vice-captain of the Australian team, will not be considered ever for the leadership role of the national team. Also, Steve Smith and Cameron Bancroft would not be picked for captaincy until a minimum of 12 months after the end of their suspensions, Cricket Australia (CA) said in a statement.
Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli returned to Mumbai on Wednesday from Bengaluru, where they celebrated Anushka’s 30th Birthday (on May 1) and Virat played an Indian Premier League match against Mumbai Indians. The couple was spotted at the arrivals section of the airport – Anushka looked chic in black trousers paired with a sleeveless mustard top while Virat opted for track pants and basic brown tee. Anushka also attended Virat’s last match (he’s the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore) against Mumbai Indian, which RCB won. Anushka and Virat had also shared snippets from the Pari actress’ birthday celebrations in Bengaluru.
But first, take a look at their airport photos:
On her birthday, Anushka posted an adorable picture of them celebrating by cutting no less than three birthday cakes in a beautifully decorated room. “Best birthday with the bestest, kindest, bravest man in the world. Love you for making it so special my love,” she captioned it.
Back in Mumbai, Anushka Sharma will soon resume filming Sui Dhaaga, a Yash Raj Films project co-starring Varun Dhawan. Sui Dhaaga is expected to release in September. Later this year, Anushka will also be seen in Aanand L Rai’s Zero, co-starring Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif.
Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli has been fined Rs 12 lakh for maintaining slow over-rate during their Indian Premier League match against Chennai Super Kings.
The hosts had put on board a challenging 205 for eight but riding on MS Dhoni’s power-packed 34-ball 70, Super Kings overhauled the formidable target with two balls to spare.
“As it was his team’s first offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Mr. Kohli was fined Rs 12 lakh,” an IPL press release said.
With this win, CSK have taken the top spot in the IPL points tally on account of a better net run-rate.
Earlier in the match, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (70 not out off 34 deliveries) and Ambati Rayudu’s 53-ball 83 helped Chennai Super Kings register a thumping five-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Chasing a massive total of 206 runs, Dhoni was at his explosive best, blasting seven sixes as the visitors won with five wickets and two deliveries to spare clash at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Talented Indian batsman Yuvraj Singh, who played his last One Day International (ODI) for the country in June 2017, has said that he will take a call on his career after the 2019 World Cup in England and Wales.
Yuvraj, who has played over 400 matches, in all formats, for the country, has accumulated over 10000 runs. He will forever be remembered by Indian fans for his role in the 2007 World T20 and the 2011 World Cup where he was given the Man of the Series award on both occasions. However, lately, he hasn’t been able to perform that as per his lofty standards.
“I am going to look to play till 2019, whatever cricket I get to play. I will take a call when that year is over,” Yuvraj said.
“Everybody has to take a decision after a while. I have been playing international cricket since 2000, it has been almost 17-18 years on and off. So, I will definitely take a call after 2019,” he added.
Yuvraj also spoke about his Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), adding that their immediate goal is to qualify for the semi-finals.
He further added, “We are looking ahead to first qualify in the last four and I think we have got a great team this year. We have got a very powerful batting attack, smart bowling attack, and hopefully, we look to qualify and then see if we can win the finals.”
“Oh, I am loving it. Chris has always been a friend off the field. He has been a great batsman, probably one of the most dangerous batsmen in the world and performing like a boss on the field. I am really happy for him and the way he is batting,” he said.
He finally concluded by saying, “T20 cricket is unpredictable. Anybody can win on any day. But Chennai has always been a very consistent team and KKR has been playing really well. I think these are two really good teams in the IPL.
