Rana Kapoor in custody for 4 days, Rs 1000 crores property under agency scanner
The enforcement Directorate took Rana Kapoor in its custody before the Yes Bank founder could shift base from India and dampened his plans of selling his three Delhi properties that are worth over Rs 1000 crores.
The three properties at 40, Amrita Shergill Marg, 18 Kautilya Marg in Chanakya Puri and Diplomatic Enclave on Sardar Patel Marg are not directly linked to Mr Kapoor. However, officials said that the former Yes Bank Chief had tasked some top property dealers in the capital to look for buyers for the assest.
All the above properties are linked to Rana’s wife Bindu Kapoor, who is also under ED scanner over suspicious transactions of around Rs 4,300 crores.
As sources said Rana Kapoor wanted to shift either to US or UK or France after selling all these properties in Delhi and Mumbai.
Also Yes Bank allegedy sold properties to Abode Pvt Ltd of worth of Rs 380 crores without following the guidelines by RBI.
Rana Kapoor was arrested by ED on Sunday after almost 16 hours of questioning in Mumbai and he will remain in custody till March 11.
