Puri tells Congress to refuel vehicles in BJP-ruled states during Bharat Jodo Yatra

10 September 2022 (New Delhi): Union minister Hardeep Singh Puri launched a blistering attack on Friday, tweeting ‘word of advice for Congress’ and urging them to refuel their vehicles in BJP ruled states. He stated that if Congress follows his suggestion during the Bharat Jodo Yatra, the party can save between $1,050 and $2,205 per vehicle.

Taking a jibe at Rahul Gandhi, he said, “Given the massive entourage and convoy of luxury vehicles, their ‘young’ leader usually travels with, they can thank me later for this advice.” The minister explained how the Congress might save money by refuelling in which states. “For example. there’s a difference of as much as ₹14.5 per litre between Telangana and J&K,” he said.

Rahul Gandhi’s t-shirt became new point of contention

This comes amid an ongoing spat between the Congress and the BJP over the Bharat Jodo Yatra, which was officially launched on September 7. After the “Bharat Jodo Yatra” began, Rahul Gandhi’s container room and t-shirt became new point of debate between the Congress and the BJP. Puri further gave a list of how much money can be saved per litre on refueling in different BJP-ruled states. Meanwhile, the Congress started the third day of its ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra,’ led by party MP Rahul Gandhi, in Nagercoil, Kanyakumari district, Tamil Nadu, on Friday. The third day of the Yatra started from Scott Christian College in Nagercoil and ended at Azhagiyamandapam Junction in Tamil Nadu. Rahul Gandhi will lead a 3,500-kilometer march from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, which will take 150 days across 12 states.
