Now you can win trophies and reward by Participating in WTF! fart competition in surat

Farting in public is the most awkward and awful thing to do, but now the city of Surat is giving its own spin to the subject all thanks to 48-year old Yatin Sangoi whose idea it was to organise a one-of-a-kind farting competition. Surat in Gujarat is all set to host a farting contest, What The Fart, on 22nd September. It is believed to be the first of its kind in India.

Farting is the most human things to do and is also a very important sign of a healthy body, but social norms have made it so that today if anyone farts in public it’s frowned upon. And that’s exactly what Sangoi aims to change to show the world that there’s really nothing wrong in letting out wind when the body absolutely needs to.

Participants who manage to release the most melodic fart will not only take home trophies but might also get rewarded anywhere from ₹5,000 to ₹15,000. The fart fest will be held at a local club and includes a registration fee of ₹100.

The trigger behind the idea according to Sangoi was when he was watching a movie with his family, “Around 25 days back I came up with a loud fart while watching television with my family. Someone just joked that I would be a winner if a farting competition is organized somewhere. The idea hung on. My friends laughed when I shared the idea with them.”

Yatin Sangoi, a singer who says he was once featured on a popular singing show on TV in 2001, added, “a couple of decades back, farting loud even in public places was not frowned upon. Farting has also been part and parcel of jokes cracked among friends and even at times of family get-togethers.”

According to the report, he event will take place a week before Navratri and the Facebook page of the event will guide people on what food they should eat before participate.

The main course includes things with potatoes, beans and of course radish, all of which help in monstrous flatulence. Participants who manage to make the most melodic noise will not only take home trophies but also cash prize ranging from Rs 15,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 5000.

“I plan to organise such events in Ahmedabad after Diwali and in Mumbai in December besides one in Kolkata during the Durga Pooja festival,” he told.

Anyone interested in showing off some serious farting skills must consider taking part in this event. It’s only going to be one hell of a smelly affair though!
