UP govt helds Investors Summit at Delhi’s Oberoi hotel

14th January 2023 (New Delhi): Investors’ pre-summit was organised on January 13, 2023, at Delhi’s hotel Oberoi with the purpose of forest development in Uttar Pradesh. This much awaited event was arranged by PK Srivastava, the DFO of Noida. The forest-related field in Summit had different sectors of investment (furniture, forestry, MDF/HDF, limitations, etc.). During the time of investment, a proper environment of discussion took place where investors detailed the summit. The chief guest of the summit, Shri Arun Kumar, a state minister, focused on the independent charge of the basic structure of development along with the two single-window systems and told about the action they took against prisoners over the past six years.


In order to prepare a proper environment for investors after 25 years in the forest sector, the chief secretary of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Durga Shankar Mishra, detailed the efforts of development taken by the government in the past 5 years and explained how the forests of Uttar Pradesh could be digitalized for their further development. Moreover, he assured investors that the state government will provide every possible support for the establishment of woodlands in the state. 


 
Shri Manoj Singh, the upper chief secretary of Uttar Pradesh, gave some useful knowledge about ecotourism, forestry, and other fields of forest development. The principle chief of forest conservators and head of department, Shrimati Mamta Sanjeev Dubey, detailed the forest resources in the state and talked about the possibility of forest development. In order to encourage the development of timber-based forests, the state committee appointed Shri Anupam Gupta as nodal officer.
Summit had a total of 66 investors who invested in 10 different sectors of forestry with a total worth of Rs. 14,085.10 crore, of which Rs. 3,365.1 crore was invested online. Many investors took part in this summit very enthusiastically. In the second session of the summit, Shri CP Goyal, DG of environment, forests, and climate change ministry, talked about bamboo, Melia dubia, and other species of plants in forests. Other than this, Shri Sudhir Sharma, the managing director of UP Forest Cooperation, shed some light on forest certification and ecotourism.

At the end of the session, Prabhakar Bura, the Seceretary of Biodiversity board gave vote of thanks to all the investors.
