Congress alleges BJP of 1.7 lakh crore bank frauds: Learn More
Top opposition party leader Jaiveer Shergil, yesterday, during a press conference at party’s headquarters accused BJP of 1.7 lakh crore bank frauds. He said “The list of fraudsters has increased gradually during last 5 years and the peak fraud year is 2018-19, where 6,800 fraud cases has been considered that sums upto the amount of ₹71,500 crores.” He further added that BJP government need to accept the fact instead of indulging in blame game.
Shergil said, in 2017-18 the total number of bank fraud cases stood at 5,916 to the tune of Rs 41,460 crore. During the last five years from 2013-14 to 2018-19, there have been 27,125 bank fraud cases to the tune of Rs 1.74 lakh crore. While taking a dig at BJP Shergil said: “The BJP needs to come out of their election celebration mode to rescue the sinking economy from the bank frauds and flying fraudsters.”
Shergil accused BJP for not hiding the names of the fraudster and said, in 2015 Supreme Court of India has directed Reserve Bank of India to disclose the names of the people who had turn out to be a liability but since 2015 no name list has been issued by RBI.
BJP is creating pressure on RBI for not releasing the names of a fraudster who has to turn out to be termite for country economy.
