Netflix gets cheaper, ₹199 per month for only Mobile-based users

The company said almost half of the Indian users downloaded at least one film or web series in the month of June.

After analyzing heavy competition from Amazon prime and other local players. Netflix has finally announced a new subscription plan for only mobile-based users at ₹199 per month.

This plan offers one SD 480 pixels screen with download support of 100 titles, but this plan does not offer cast to TV as it’s only a mobile-based subscription. Netflix product innovation Director Ajay Arora said that Members in India watch content on mobile more than anywhere in the country, on seeing this Netflix has launched this plan to aggressively expand its consumers in India.

The company hopes that after experiencing the mobile plan people will move to a higher viewing quality plan of Netflix. Netflix is spending heavily on Indian films like Sacred Games, Chopsticks and Typewriter and this plan is a big blow to its rivals Hotstar and Amazon prime.
