The trailer of the much-awaited upcoming film Madam Chief Minister is out. Madam Chief Minister starring Richa Chadha plays a young woman with a keen interest in politics who takes on political giants to serve her state.

Madam Chief Minister’s cast also comprises Saurabh Shukla, Manav Kaul, and Akshay Oberoi. The film is directed by Subhash Kapoor.

The film’s disclaimer mentions that the film is not based on reality but the resemblance between UP’s former CM Mayawati and Richa Chadha is sure to be noticed.

For the unversed, Subhash Kapoor was a political journalist before turning a director. From the trailer itself, it can be seen that he has used his expertise brilliantly to research thoroughly for the film.

The trailer shows Richa Chadha brilliantly portraying women’s journey into the world of politics and how she breaks the shackles of the age-old caste system and patriarchy.

Madam Chief Minister was shot in Lucknow in a 40 day start to finish schedule in 2019.

Produced by T-Series, the film will be out on January 22.
