1. All voice calls from Jio to all other networks in India to be free from January 1.

India’s top notch telecom service provider Reliance Jio will end all the intercall charges for all domestic voice calls from January 1 as a New Year’s gift to its users.

Jio had been charging 6 paise per minute for voice calls to other networks to its users in India till now. Jio already doesn’t charge for the calls within its own network.

2. Air quality of Noida and Ghaziabad drops to “very poor” category.

The Air Quality Index of Noida (302), Greater Noida (315) and Ghaziabad (310) falls to “very poor” category on Wednesday after recording “poor” air quality on Monday and Tuesday, said Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

“Wind speed has dropped due to which the dispersal of pollutants has become difficult, ” said a senior official at Skymet Whether.

3. ‘Wonder Woman’ Gal Gadot thinks Shaheen Bagh Bilkis was ‘fighting for women’s equality’, deletes story later.

Israeli actress Gal Gadot who is well known for playing the comic book character Wonder Woman was acknowledging the women who had inspired her in 2020 on 31st December with the campaign named #MyPersonalWonderWomen started facing backlash after posting the photo of Shaheen Bagh’s Bilkis Dadi on her Instagram story with the caption saying: “Bilkis. This 82-year-old activist fighting for women’s equality in India showed me it’s never too late to fight for what you believe in.” But after seeing the criticism from Indian followers, she deleted the story.

Bilkis was a prominent part of the protests that were organized as India decided to give citizenship to religiously prosecuted people from neighbouring countries of Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. 

4. America’s “most prolific” serial killer Samuel Little died at 80.

Samuel Little, a serial killer who is described as the “most prolific” killer by FBI in United States who has killed almost 60 people took his last breath on 31st December 2020 at the age of 80.

Samuel Little was serving the life sentance for the multiple counts of murder was suffering from diabetes, and died due to heart trouble at a California hospital, said the state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
