People started chanting ‘Govinda Govinda’ through Road No.92 at Jubilee Hills in the morning of Wednesday. The occasion was the grand opening of Mini Tirumala Lord Venkateshwara Temple by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD).
Apart from Tirumala priests, there were Vedic scholars, seers and poojaris plus 3000 devotees who attended the grand opening and made it worthy of its religious grandeur. ‘Maha Kumbhabhishekham’ between 6 am and 7:30 am was the inauguration of the temple which was followed by other special rituals.
After that, holy water was sprinkled on four corners of the temple and on the majestic 8.6 ft idol in the sanctum Sanctorum.
“The temple opening had all the trappings associated with TTD temples”, executive officer of TTD Anil Kumar Singhal said.
