104-year-old USA woman defeats coronavirus with the support of her family

People all around the world have been affected by the novel coronavirus outbreak. Amid this time of panic, news of people, especially the elderly beating Covid-19 has been popping up on the internet.

We recently came across the story of a 104-year-old woman from Minnesota, USA who fought the novel virus and emerged victorious.

Vera Muller has been staying in Sauer Health Care Home in Winona, Minnesota for 13 years. She was diagnosed with Covid-19 on March 25 after showing symptoms including cough, fever and nausea two days after her birthday.

Vera’s family used to visit her regularly. They used to gather around her window at the health care home to keep her in good spirits and her morale up while she recovered. They even used to speak to Vera on the phone, her son Bob Muller told the Winona Daily News.

Even for her birthday, Vera’s family was not able to celebrate in person but everyone including her friends from the church gathered around her window and rang in her birthday on March 23.

Across the globe, 20,63,161 novel coronavirus-positive cases have been recorded. In the USA, 6,41,919 people have been tested positive and over 28,000 deaths have been recorded. In India, the number of Covid-19 positive cases has crossed the 12,000 mark with over 400 fatalities
