Breast Cancer Awareness Month Begins with a Mission to Screen Young Women: SheWings Foundation and Amity University Organize Mega Cancer Screening Camp

Noida, Uttar Pradesh | October 1, 2026: As Breast Cancer Awareness Month begins this October, SheWings Foundation is stepping up its mission to bring breast cancer awareness, early detection, and screening within reach of 5,000 women across Noida by the end of 2026. Marking the beginning of the awareness month, the foundation organized a breast cancer screening and awareness programme with Amity University, Noida, bringing women’s health and preventive healthcare into focus.

With a broader initiative supported by the Gautam Buddh Nagar District Administration and NHPC, SheWings Foundation is working to encourage women to prioritize their health, recognize potential warning signs, and seek timely medical evaluation. The campaign places particular emphasis on reaching women from economically weaker backgrounds who may face barriers to accessing healthcare.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Turning Awareness into Action

The programme at the Amity University girls’ hostel brought together female students, healthcare professionals, and awareness advocates to highlight the importance of breast health and early detection. Dr. Chhaya Chaurdia shared insights into breast cancer awareness, encouraging young women to overcome hesitation around discussing breast health and to seek professional advice whenever they have concerns.

A team of female doctors and healthcare experts from SheCanScan participated in the initiative, providing guidance on breast self-examination, potential warning signs, and the importance of appropriate medical screening. The programme also addressed common myths and misconceptions about cancer, helping participants access reliable information and make informed healthcare decisions.

Mission 5,000: Taking Cancer Screening Beyond City Limits

Leading this initiative, Madan Mohit Bhardwaj, Founder of SheWings Foundation, is driving efforts to expand cancer awareness and screening outreach across Noida.

The foundation’s goal is to encourage 5,000 women to come forward for breast cancer screening by December 31, 2026. Through collaborations with educational institutions, healthcare professionals, and supporting organizations, the initiative seeks to extend its reach to schools, colleges, and communities in remote and underserved areas.

The campaign recognizes that access to healthcare information and screening opportunities can be limited for women from economically disadvantaged communities. By taking awareness activities directly to these communities, the foundation aims to reduce barriers, challenge misconceptions, and encourage timely medical consultation.

The initiative also emphasizes that awareness must go beyond a single event. Alongside screening activities, medical professionals are helping women understand potential warning signs, the importance of seeking medical advice, and the role of appropriate screening in early detection.

A Call to Action This Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Breast Cancer Awareness Month serves as an important reminder that conversations about women’s health must lead to meaningful action. From university campuses to underserved communities, awareness, access to reliable information, and timely medical evaluation can help women take informed steps towards their health.

Through its partnership with NHPC and support from the district administration in Noida, alongside its wider outreach campaign, SheWings Foundation aims to make 2026 a starting point for sustained action—encouraging more women to speak openly about breast health, seek professional guidance, and explore appropriate screening opportunities.

“Awareness saves time, early evaluation matters, and every woman deserves access to reliable breast health information.”
