Amitabh Bachchan Denies Watching ISPL Match Post Angioplasty Reports, Calls it ‘Fake News
Megastar Amitabh Bachchan denounced claims of bad health as “fake news” on Friday, putting an end to speculation about his hospitalisation. Earlier in the day, anxious fans swarmed social media platforms with questions about Bachchan’s health as multiple reports stated the megastar had undergone an angioplasty operation for either a leg clot or a clogged artery. Hours after news of his hospital visit appeared, Amitabh Bachchan and his son Abhishek were pictured at Thane’s Dadoji Kondadev Stadium in the evening, witnessing the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) final between Majhi Mumbai and Tiigers of Kolkata.
Amitabh Bachchan Denies Health Concerns
In a video circulating on social media, Amitabh Bachchan exits the stadium when a member of the crowd inquires about his health. The actor is originally seen waving his hands as if everything is alright. The guy then inquired, “How are you?” Is everything fine? Amitabh Bachchan said, “Fake news.” The claims began in the afternoon, with some claiming he had visited Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital for a normal checkup. The report stated he underwent an angioplasty, a balloon treatment used to unblock arteries and blood vessels, to clear a blockage in his leg. Some said he underwent an angioplasty for a clogged artery.
However, neither the hospital nor his office provided confirmation for most of the day. Even though the stories could not be independently verified, #Amitabh Bachchan and #Kokilaben Hospital were the top trends on X. Sanjay Nirupam, the Congress leader, was among those who wrote. “I’m praying for Amitabh Bachchan’s rapid recovery. “#AmitabhBachchan,” he wrote on X. Many others wrote to wish him a speedy recovery and to pray for his well-being.
Amitabh Bachchan was last seen making a cameo appearance in Tiger Shroff’s Ganapath. His forthcoming films include Kalki AD 2898, which stars Deepika Padukone and Prabhas. He will also appear alongside Rajinikanth in the Tamil flick Vettaiyan.
