Despite a spirited comeback effort and dominance from the Denver Nuggets in the fourth quarter, The Los Angeles Lakers defeated Denver Nuggets in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals on Sunday thanks to a buzzer-beating 3- point shot by Anthony Davis.

The Los Angeles held off the Denver Nuggets second-half comeback to seal victory in Game2, 105-103.With just 2.1seconds remaining on the clock and the Lakers down 103-102, Anthony Davis buried the clutch 3-pointer from the wing to seal the victory and put the Lakers up 2-0.

Unlike last game, the Lakers didn’t look like they were in complete control in the first half despite their 10-point lead at the half. However, they were still able to outplay the Nuggets because of an aggressive and efficient first half from LeBron James.

LeBron James recorded 26 points and 11 rebounds on the game. Standing as a running mate and encompassing force Anthony Davis finished with a game-high 31 points and nine rebounds.

On the other hand Denver Nuggets star player Nikola Jokic led the Nuggets with 30 points, nine assists, and six rebounds going back-and-forth with Davis down the stretch as the big men traded buckets in the clutch.

Lakers fans hoped that the team left their third-quarter woes in the regular season, but those struggles flared up again in Game3. There was no rhythm of flow to the offense to start the third quarter and the Nuggets took full advantage of every one of the Lakers shot that clanked off the rim. The bleeding didn’t stop in the fourth quarter either, but the Lakers were fortunate enough to have a few players hitting big shots to seal their victory.

The Lakers are now up 2-0 and will try and improve their series lead to three games in Game3 on Tuesday.
