Why Rohit replaced Arjun Kapoor as the host of Khatron Ke Khiladi? Read here!
Based on the popular American show ‘Fear Factor’, ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ is one of the most loved reality shows in India. Akshay Kumar took the show to great heights when he hosted the first two seasons. Although he was replaced by desi girl Priyanka Chopra in the third, Akki returned as the host in the fourth part. For season 5 and 6, Colors roped in Chennai Express director Rohit Shetty. He was loved for his daredevil attitude but Arjun Kapoor replaced him as the host in the seventh season.
Now again for the eight season, Colors has roped in Rohit Shetty. When asked about the reason for the change, Raj Nayak, the CEO of Colors, said at the launch of the show today, “There was no specific reason to replace Arjun (Kapoor). Rohit did the show for two years and they have been most successful seasons. Arjun was a superb host. Rohit is associated with the show because of the stunts in his films. If possible we would have had Rohit and Arjun together.”
Rohit clarified that he couldn’t do the seventh season because of Dilwale. He further added that he is yet to complete the last schedule of Golmaal Again and will do that after KKK. He needs to shoot a fight sequence and a song.

Speaking about KKK 8, the filmmaker-turned-host said, “KKK is not just a show for me, it is an emotion. We have worked hard on the new format. I think the lineup of celebs is the best this time. We are going to Spain, bigger country, bigger seas and heights.”
This time’s theme is ‘Pain in Spain’. Wrestler Geeta Phogat, Bigg Boss 10 winner Manveer Gurjar, Lopamudra Raut, Nia Sharma, Hina Khan, Shantanu Maheshwari, Karan Wahi, Ravi Dubey and Rithvik Dhanjani are the names which have been finalized for the show. They will leave for Spain sometime between May 12 and 15. The show will start airing in July
