“Shocking: Classroom Wall Collapses During Lunch Break in Gujarat, Student Injured”
A shocking incident unfolded in Vadodara, Gujarat, on Friday when a classroom wall collapsed during the lunch break. The incident took place at approximately 12:30 pm at Shree Narayan Gurukul School on Waghodiya Road, just moments before students began their lunch break. According to the Indian Express, one student was injured in the incident when part of the wall collapsed on him as he presumably came to park his bike.
G D Palsana, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) E Division, reported that they received a call in the control room about the collapse of a part of the balcony wall, leading to some students being trapped in the debris. Palsana confirmed that no other students were injured, as most of them were on break at the time. The CCTV footage of the incident quickly went viral on social media, showing the sudden collapse.
The classroom, located on the first floor, was part of a building constructed in 2002–2003. Interestingly, windows in a different building, unconnected to the falling wall, had been recently renovated. Following the collapse, a team from the Vadodara Fire Department promptly arrived at the school and initiated rescue efforts.
