On Monday, Samajwadi Party MP and actor Jaya Bachchan lost her cool in the Rajya Sabha during the debate on the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Amendment) Bill, 2021. She slammed Bhubaneswar Kalita, who was in the Chair. She was heard cursing treasury benches saying, ‘Aap logon ke bure din aayenge’.
“Your bad days are going to come very soon. If your attitude continues like this, your bad days are going to come very soon,” she said.
It all happened when the Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan was asked by the Chair to participate in the discussion on the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Amendment) Bill, 2021. Jaya Bachchan demanded action against members who allegedly made personal comments to her in Rajya Sabha.
She said, ‘We want justice. (We) Don’t expect justice from there!!! But can we expect it from you? How are you protecting the members of this house or the 12 members sitting outside?’ Meanwhile, Jaya’s daughter-in-law Aishwarya appeared before the Enforcement Directorate in ‘Panama Papers leak case yesterday.
She was reportedly grilled by the ED officials for more than 5 hours. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was questioned about her alleged links with an offshore entity.
“I don’t want to thank you as I am not able to decide whether I should recall the time when you used to walk from this side (opposition benches) shouting (slogans) or remember the time when you are sitting on this Chair,” she said.
“There are such important issues to be discussed but we are spending three-four hours to discuss a clerical error (in the present law). What’s going on? This is terrible,” she added.
She asked the Opposition who they have been trying to reason with for so long on suspension of members.
