Unveiled: Bengaluru’s Rameshwaram Cafe Bomb Blast Traced Back with Exclusive Recovery of Raw Materials and Timer
Following a low-intensive explosion at Rameshwaram cafe in Whitefield, Bengaluru, the City Crime Branch (CCB) has taken over the investigation, with no arrests made yet, confirmed Bengaluru Police Commissioner today.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed confidence in nabbing the culprits swiftly, citing multiple available CCTV footages. He visited the hospital to meet the victims, some of whom suffered burn injuries, with one undergoing plastic surgery.
The incident, which occurred around 1 pm on Friday, prompted the registration of a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Explosive Substances Act. Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar highlighted similarities between this blast and previous incidents in Mangaluru and Shivamogga in 2022, indicating commonalities in the materials used for the improvised explosive device (IED).
CCTV footage revealed a man entering the cafe with a bag, his face partially concealed, prompting authorities to detain four individuals for questioning, sourced from Dharwad, Hubballi, and Bengaluru.
State Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara is convening a high-level meeting with the Chief Minister and top officials to delve deeper into the matter, affirming the intention to apprehend the suspects promptly, as conveyed to news agency ANI.
