Concerns were raised by residents alleging that the dogs responsible were being sheltered by a nearby resident. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Devesh Mahla, confirmed the registration of a case under Section 304A of the Indian Penal Code and ongoing investigations into the matter.
While strict laws govern street dog control, including sterilization guidelines, challenges persist in effectively implementing these measures. Activists and officials have highlighted deficiencies in sterilization programs and veterinary services, calling for improved implementation to address the issue of stray dog populations in Delhi effectively.
