Tomato customers feeling tweak, cost reached to Rs 80/kg in Delhi NCR
Tomato price in Delhi NCR has crossed the Rs 60/kg-mark as per the rate list released by the customer affairs department. Tomato was being sold between 60-Rs to 80-Rs in the market.
In Noida, the tomato was being sold at Rs-80 per kg at many retail outlets, in Delhi, mother dairy to boost its availability and sell tomato for Rs-40 per kg and at the same time, online grocery offering portal milk basket was selling tomatoes at Rs-65 per kg.
According to the sources diminish the supply of tomatoes and heavy rain in key producing states is the main reason behind the cost escalation in the market. The Delhi government has also asked to ‘exhort traders and logistic providers to increase the supply of tomatoes to the mandis to ensure immediate control of price rise’.
Rising price made things very difficult for Delhiets.
However, things are not as gloomy for customers in Chandigarh, Punjab, up. Tomato was being sold at Rs 30 per kg in Punjab and Haryana capital city.
