The Revenge Saga Of Hrithik Roshan And Yami Gautam To Have A Hollywood Remake?
Hrithik Rohan and Yami Gautam-starrer Kaabil was well-received by the audience, thereby becoming a major box-office success. It seems like the film’s success has crossed the realms of Bollywood, as it may have a Hollywood remake soon, as per media reports. The makers have reportedly been approached by 20th Century Fox for the rights of the film.
Kaabil was a riveting revenge drama about Supriya and Rohan, a visually impaired couple, whose blissful life is wrecked after the former is raped by men with political links. She commits suicide and Rohan goes on a revenge spree. The film was hard-hitting and emotionally draining, with loads of action-packed sequences amplifying the experience.
Sanjay Gupta, the director of the film, spoke to the media and confirmed that they have, indeed, been approached by Tomas Jegeus, President of Fox International Productions. However, talks are still on. “Even though the developments are too premature to talk about at this moment, it is an honour for the team,” Gupta told Mid-Day in a statement.
Gupta also revealed that Kaabil has been voted the best film released in the first half of 2016 in an online poll, and the team is rejoicing at this win. Rakesh Rohan, the producer of the film, also added that it has all the necessary elements to be made into a Hollywood film.
