Shiv Sena workers allegedly pour black ink and assaulted BJP leader for criticizing CM Uddhav Thackeray.

Shiv Sena workers blackened BJP leader Shirish Katekar with ink in public view for allegedly speaking against Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray.

Shiv Sena workers in anger even forced Shirish Katekar to wear a sari on the middle road of Solapur and blackened his face for his objectionable statements against Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.

In the video of the attack on the BJP leader that has gone viral, Shiv Sena workers can be seen parading the saffron party leader after hurling black ink on him.

Further, the party workers go on to hit the BJP leader with slippers as the policeman attempts to ward them off.

For the unversed BJP leader Shirish Katekar was reportedly protesting against the increase in electricity bills in the state. Katekar said that Thackeray was unfit to rule the state.

Justifying the attack, Shiv Sena leader from Solapur Purshottam Barde blamed Katekar for provoking Shiv Sainiks.

“It was Katekar who used objectionable words against our chief. For Sena workers, Uddhavji is a revered figure and we will not tolerate anything said against him. We take responsibility for this attack and are ready to go to jail for our action,” said Barde.

The BJP leaders condemned the incident and called it a classic example of ‘Jungle Raj’, ‘ No one is safe in this Sena rule. Anyone who criticizes them has to face the music as Shiv Sena workers have become arrogant and bash up their opponents even in the presence of police personnel. said BJP legislature Ram Kadam.

In September last year, a retired Navy officer was beaten up by Shiv Sainiks in Kandivli for allegedly sharing a satirical cartoon of Thackeray.
