Sad: Legendary actress Surekha Sikri passes away due to cardiac arrest.

Famous actress Surekha Sikri has passed away due to cardiac arrest. She was 75 years old. She played the role of Dadi Sa in the serial Balika Vadhu. Surekha did not have any big project after Badhaai Ho. Therefore, last year she also demanded the removal of the ban imposed by the Maharashtra government on actors above 65 years of age for shooting.

Two major strokes in past two years:

Surekha Sikri had earlier suffered a brain stroke in 2018 while shooting for a TV show in Mahabaleshwar. She had fallen, injuring her head. Then there were reports that she had got paralysis. However, she recovered after being in care.

She had a stroke again during the lockdown, after which she was kept in the ICU. Doctors said that the blood clot formed in her brain were removed after giving medicines.

Didn’t accepted help:

Surekha Sikri had said during the difficulties, ‘The offers of ad films are not enough for me, I will have to work more because apart from medical bills, I also have many expenses but the producers cannot take any risk. People tried to help me financially for which I am very grateful to them. But I have not taken any financial help from anyone. Give me work and I want to earn money with respect.”

Surekha has been awarded three national awards:

Surekha Sikri was a well-known name in the Indian theatre, film and television industry. She first appeared in the 1978 political drama ‘Kissa Kursi Ka’. Thereafter, she became a part of several Hindi soap operas. Born in UP, Surekha refined her acting from the National School of Drama in 1971.

The senior actress also won the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1989. Her role as Kalyani Devi in ​​Balika Vadhu is one of the most popular television characters.

She was last seen in the segment of Zoya Akhtar’s Ghost Stories, which premiered on Netflix. She was married to Hemant Rege and they have a son, Rahul Sikri.
