Rishi Sunak visits temple with wife Akshata Murthy to celebrate Janmashtami

19August, 2022 (New Delhi): Britain’s PM candidate Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murthy reached Lord Krishna’s temple on Thursday. He had darshan and wished victory. Sunak wrote on social media – ‘I went to celebrate Janmashtami with wife at Bhakti Vedanta Manor temple. It is a popular festival of Hindus. We celebrate it with great pomp. It celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna.’ Let us tell you that Sunak is at the forefront of the race for the post of PM. If he wins the election, he will be the first person of Indian origin to become the British Prime Minister.

Sunak has studied MBA from Stanford University in America. His first meeting with Akshata was here. They got married in 2009 in Bangalore. Sunak lives in Southampton. His parents were residents of Punjab state of India. They had settled in Britain. Akshata is the daughter of Narayan Murthy, co-founder of Indian software company Infosys.

Akshata does not hold British citizenship. According to British law, Akshata does not have to pay any tax on her earnings from outside the UK. Only British citizens have to pay this tax. Sunak is accused that he may have given relief in the Corona era, but did not leave any stone unturned to increase the tax burden on the citizens of Britain.

In Britain, PM candidate Rishi Sunak had shown a tough stand on China. Sunak said- ‘It has become absolutely clear that China is the biggest threat to our country and the world. If I become the Prime Minister, I will take strict action against China from day one.’ The name of the new Prime Minister of Britain will be announced on 5 September. Apart from Sunak, Liz Truss is in the race for the post of PM. There were 8 candidates in the first race. After five rounds of voting of MPs, only these two names are left. In 2015, Sunak became an MP for the first time and in 2019 he was made the Finance Minister.
