PM Modi to launch a massive rural work scheme for migrant laborers

PM Modi will launch a massive rural work scheme for migrant laborers who migrated to their cities during the lockdown on Saturday.
As per an official statement made ‘ Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyan ‘ will be launched on 20th June 2020 under the presence of Bihar chief minister and deputy minister. It will be launched from Telihar, the village of Bihar.
Chief Minister of the other five states will also take part in the virtual launch of the scheme.
A total of 116 districts have been chosen for the launch of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand which includes 27 aspirational districts. The district covers around two-third of such migrant workers.
Village of 6 other states will join the scheme keeping in mind the norms for the social distancing of COVID-19 pandemic.
The campaign of 125 days will gather focused employment for migrant laborers providing work in one hand and create infrastructure in rural areas on the other hand with a resource envelope of 50,000 crores.
The scheme coordination will be done by 12 different ministries including rural development, Panchayat, transport and highways, telecom, agriculture, and much more.
