Parents Appeared for Board Exams Along With Their Son Is Winning Hearts On The Internet

The Mondal family of West Bengal’s Nadia district are an unusual lot. 32-year-old Kalyani, her husband, 42-year-old Balram, and their 18-year-old son Biplab, all studied together for the higher secondary exams.

The only sad news is that while Kalyani and her son Biplab passed with 45.6 percent and 50.6 percent respectively, Balram couldn’t pass the exam. “The happiness would have been complete if my father could pass the exams with my mother and myself. But we would try to ensure that he gets to study more next time.” Biplab told to an English Daily.

The little family would sit for classes together, and study the same subjects too, in Hazranpur High School. Biplab was the only one who took tuitions. He would then teach his parents, who would first finish ploughing, and then study for the exams.

Balram is obviously unhappy with the results. He will apply for a review of his papers again, but if he doesn’t pass, he will reappear for the exam next year, he said.

Kalyani said she wants to go to college with her son too and study the same subjects. That way, she added, they’ll save money on the books and other reading material.
