“Pappu Yadav Announces Merger of Jan Adhikar Party with Congress in Strategic Election Move”
Bihar leader Pappu Yadav made a significant political maneuver by merging his Jan Adhikar Party with the Congress during a formal ceremony in New Delhi. This move came after widespread speculation following his meeting with RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav, indicating potential realignments in Bihar’s political landscape ahead of upcoming elections.
The Jan Adhikar Party, established in 2015 just before the Bihar Assembly election, initially emerged as a counterforce against the alliance between Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad Yadav. Pappu Yadav, expressing gratitude for the blessings of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, highlighted the strategic importance of joining forces with the Congress.
He lavished praise on Rahul Gandhi, asserting that there’s no viable alternative to him at present. Yadav’s history traverses various political affiliations, including stints with the RJD, Samajwadi Party, and Lok Janshakti Party, before founding the Jan Adhikar Party following his expulsion from the RJD due to alleged anti-party activities.
Despite this, he emphasized the absence of animosity between him and Lalu Yadav, emphasizing their emotional connection. Yadav’s recent discussions with Lalu and Tejashwi Yadav stirred speculation about potential political realignments in Bihar. He expressed determination to halt the BJP’s advance in regions like Seemanchal and Mithilanchal, stressing the importance of preserving the identity and ideology of marginalized sections.
With his wife, Ranjeen, already a Congress politician, and his son, Sarthak Ranjan, pursuing a career in cricket, Pappu Yadav’s decision to merge with the Congress solidifies his commitment to a collaborative effort aimed at securing victories in both the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections and the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections.
