Artem Dolgopyat, Israel’s artistic gymnast on Sunday bagged Israel’s second-ever gold medal in the Olympics, and his country’s national anthem played during the felicitation ceremony went viral on social media. But who knew that Indian Music Composer Anu Malik would be trolled on Dolgopyat’s victory!
Yes, you read it right. Anu Malik was trolled brutally by Netizens on social media for ‘copying’ Israel’s national anthem’s tune. After Dolgopyat won the gold medal, Israel’s national anthem, “Hatikvah” was played in Tokyo and the Israeli flag was raised in honour of the gymnast.
And, As the video of the felicitation ceremony went viral on social media, Netizens surmised that the Israeli national anthem has a very familiar tune with Anu Malik’s 1996 song Mera Mulk Mera Desh from Diljale starring Ajay Devgn and Sonali Bendre.
Movie buffs were quick enough to realize that Anu Malik might have drawn inspiration for his song ‘Mera Mulk Mera Desh’ from Israel’s national anthem. Soon, Netizens started trolling Anu Malik for allegedly copying the music with minor modifications.
