Man opens fire in Delhi’s Jamia at the anti-CAA rally; 1 injured
An unidentified man shot a protesting student of Jamia Milia Islamia at an anti-CAA protest at Jamia area in Delhi on Thursday. The accused, who has now been taken into custody, allegedly shout ‘Kisko Chahiye Azadi?” before opening fire.
The incident took place when protesters, including students of Jamia Milia Islamia, were marching at Rajghat for anti CAA and NRC.
The attacker has a gun, shouted “kisko chahiye Azadi? Main Dunga Azadi”.
A video clip of this incident has been circulating all over social media. In the video the man can be seen wearing black jacket and holding a single-barrel weapon and was standing meters away from the policemen who were deployed outside the University campus, the accused shot a student in the crowd, who has been identified as Shadab Najar, a student of Jamia Milia’s Mass Communication and Research Center. He has now been admitted to the hospital.
The accused in the custody has identified himself as Gopal. The police confirmed his claim.
