Kieron Pollard smashes six sixes in an over off hattrick taker Akila Dananjaya.

West Indies captain Kieron Pollard on Wednesday became only the third batsman to hit 6 sixes in an international match during the opening T20I against Sri Lanka.

Pollard followed the footsteps of South Africa’s Herschelle Gibbs against the Netherlands in the 2007 World Cup and India’s Yuvraj Singh, who also achieved the feat In the 2007 Twenty 20 World Cup Against England.

The feat came in the sixth over of a bizarre West Indies batting innings, bowled by off-spinner Akila Dananjaya who moments earlier in his previous over had been celebrating taking a hattrick.

Pollard put his brute hitting power on display by smashing Dananjaya all around the park in that one eventful over.

What also is mind blogging is that in only his last over, Dananjaya had picked up a hattrick by dismissing the likes of Evin Lewis, Chris Gayle, and Nicholas Pooran on three successive deliveries.

It’s the first time that a bowler with a hattrick in a match when onto concede six sixes in the same match in a single over.

Pollard now becomes only the second batsman in the T20 format to have matched Yuvraj’e feat in the shortest format game in international cricket.

Pollard’s efforts were recognized well by the cricket Fraternity with fans and former cricketers sent Twitter into a frenzy mood.
