Kia Sonet vs Hyundai Venue. Which one is better?

Korean automobile company Kia Motors is almost ready to launch its third car in Indian Market Kia Sonet after the success of their two other cars- Kia Seltos and Kia Carnival. Sonet is expected to be launched at September 18.
Kia Sonet is a sub- compact SUV which has garnered more than 6,500 bookings on its first day, indicating that this car is going to rule the roads!!!
However, from its body type to price, many customers are unable to decide between Kia Sonet and its rival vehicle Hyundai Venue, which is also a sub- compact SUV along with other rivals like Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV 300, and Tata Nexon.


So let us clear the confusion by comparing both the cars:

Price:
The starting price of Kia Sonet is Rs. 6.6 lakh and goes up till Rs. 13 lakh.
Whereas Hyundai Venue costs from Rs. 6.75 lakh and ends with Rs. 13 lakh.

Petrol and Diesel Engines:
Both Kia Sonet and Hyundai venue are available in two petrol engines: 1.2 litre and 1 litre turbocharged engine. The 1.2 litre engine unit has 82 bhp and 115 Nm of torque while the turbocharged engine unit has 118 bhp and 172 Nm.
Both Sonet and Venue offer 1.2 litre unit with 5 speed manual gearbox only.
However, Kia Sonet 1 litre engine unit offers 6- speed gearbox in iMT and 7- speed in DCT.
Venue, on the other hand offers 6- speed iMT transmission and 7- speed DCT automatic option.
The Diesel Engine of both Sonet and Venue provides 1.5 litre diesel unit. Venue’s engine unit has 99 bhp and 240 Nm and is available with 6- speed manual gearbox only whereas Kia Sonet has two tune- WGT and VGT. Sonet WGT engine puts 99 bhp and 240 Nm with six- speed manual gearbox only while VGT engine puts 113 bhp and 240 Nm with ghe combination of six- speed torque converter automatic transmission. This makes Kia Sonet only SUV to provide diesel engine with automatic torque converter gearbox only.

Light and Sound:

Kia Sonet has 7- speaker Bose sound system with LED Sound Mood lights which keeps changing whereas Hyundai Venue offers only 6- speaker Arkamys audio.

Front Proximity Sensors:

Regular rear parking sensors are common in many cars but Kia Sonet has front parking sensors too. It not only helps to park the car in a tight place, but also helps the car in start and stop at traffic and analyse the narrow lanes.

Conclusion:


After all the analysis, we conclude that Kia Sonet is quite better than Hyundai Venue in terms of engine, entertainment and safety.
