Khushi and Janhvi Kapoor gets Emotional at Mom Sridevi’s Absence at Dhadak Trailer Launch
Janhvi Kapoor has said her late mom and Bollywood star Sridevi wanted her Bollywood debut to be on the lines of the Marathi hit film Sairat. Janhvi was speaking at the trailer launch of her first film, Dhadak, which is an official adaptation of Sairat.
”I saw Sairat with mom at home and I remember telling her ‘I wish that this was my first film and I could do something like it.’ Me and mom had this big discussion how even she wanted a role like this for me and then you (Karan) called and it happened,” Janhvi said.
“I definitely miss her today,” a visibly emotional Janhvi added and revealed a few tips her mom gave her: “To work hard and feel every emotion. I think I have tried to do that.”
Asked if her character is similar to what Rinku Rajguru played in Sairat, Janhvi gave a very humble response. “I don’t think any other actor can come near what Rinku did with her character of Archie in Sairat. My character, Parthavi, is very different from Archie and I have simply tried to play my character honestly,” she said
Janhvi also admitted she was quite nervous at her first trailer launch: “I am nervous but also happy.” It was then that director Shashank decided to chip in and say, “I can’t direct you anymore. Now you have to say hat you want to say,” leaving the audience laughing.
Filmmaker Karan Johar, who is producing Dhadak, also revealed that hit songs Zingaat and Yedlagla from Sairat have been remade while there are two original songs in Dhadak.
