Karan Johar shared the first official glimse of his upcoming period drama ‘Kalank’

Karan Johar takes to Twitter to release the first look of his upcoming film, Kalank. And boy, it is mesmerising! The film starts actors Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt, Madhuri Dixit, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Dutt and Kunal Kemmu among other actors, in the kalank .

Varun introduces his character Zafar through a tweet of the poster in which the actor is seen sprouting an intense look and captioned it, “It’s been a hell of a journey playing this gem of a character. So guys, meet Zafar.” The film is a multi-starrer, featuring Madhuri Dixit Nene, Sanjay Dutt, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha.

Earlier, Karan posted an emotional update about the film saying Kalank was very close to his heart as it was the last film on which his father, late Yash Johar, worked on  I passionately believe in the last film my father worked on before he left us. It was his dream to see this film come through. If i couldn’t fulfil his dream then my spirit will be broken but today his wish has found a relationship with celluloid the story of turbulent relationships and eternal love has found a voice the film has been woven,nurtured and visualised by ABHISHEK VARMAN. He says that he is excited, anxious and nervous all at once. The story is set in the ’40s and is directed by Abhishekh Varman. The film being directed by Abhishek Varman and produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar, Sajid Nadiadwala and  Apoorva Mehta. The movie is set to release in April, 2019.

Later, Karan Johar posted another update related to ‘Kalank’ on social media. He wrote, “Kalank unravels from tomorrow”.
