Kangana Ranaut to ‘boycott’ Grammys for not paying tribute to Lata Mangeshkar.

With her impeccable style, Kangana Ranaut always remains in the discussion. She does not hesitate to speak on any issue. Now she has criticized the Grammy Awards, the biggest award in the music world, in her harsh words.

In fact, recently the 64th Grammy Awards were held at the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences in Las Vegas, USA. Like every time, this time too the In Memoriam segment paid tribute to many late music legends. However, they failed to pay tribute to India’s Nightingale Lata Mangeshkar. Indian fans were disappointed by this, actress Kangana Ranaut said to boycott these awards directly.

Expressing her displeasure on social media, Kangana Ranaut wrote, ‘We must take a strong stand against any local award show which claims to be international, yet ignores and deliberately sideline great artists due to their caste and ideologies. We do. Both Oscars and Grammys failed to pay tribute to Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar. Our media should completely boycott these biased local shows, which claim to be global awards shows.

She also wrote, “We should boycott these snooty western awards.” The ‘In Memoriam’ segment of the 64th Annual Grammy Awards paid tribute to several late musical powerhouses including Stephen Sondheim and Taylor Hawkins. However, the late legendary Indian singer Lata Mangeshkar’s name was missing from the honourable section.

Mangeshkar was also not included in the Oscars 2022 ‘In Memoriam’ segment last week. Several fans of the iconic singer expressed their disappointment on Twitterverse on Monday.

While Mangeshkar was not mentioned in the ‘In Memoriam’ segment, her name is mentioned in a comprehensive list featured on the Grammys website.

Last month, India’s late nightingale was featured in the British Academy Film and Television Awards’ (BAFTA) ‘In Memoriam’ segment.

Lata Mangeshkar breathed her last on February 6 earlier this year. She was 92.
