Johnson & Johnson to test its COVID-19 vaccine on children in ages 12-18 soon.

New York: Coronavirus has affected more than 46 million people in the globe out of which 1.1 million have been killed by this deadly virus. American MNC Johnson & Johnson is planning to test its experimented Coronavirus vaccine on the youngsters aged in between 12 to 18 as soon as possible with the same technology in a vaccine successfully used in children.

“We plan to go into children as soon as we possibly can, but very carefully in terms of safety, “J&J’s vaccine research scientist of Janssen unit Dr. Jerry Sadoff told in a virtual meeting of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Advisory Committee on immunization process.

Depending on safety and other factors, the company plans to test in even younger children afterwards, Sadoff added.

J&J has already tested the vaccine on 60,000 adults as the volunteers in a Phase III study in late September. The company had to pause the trial after one participant gone for a serious medical event.

The rival med company Pfizer Inc. has already begun testing the COVID-19 vaccine on 12 year old children which is collaborated with Germany’s  BioNTech.
