JNU: Did Deepika Padukone extended her support to the left?
On Tuesday, Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone visited Jawaharlal Nehru University, which was in chaos and the protest for past three days, she stood there as a gesture of solidarity to the students injured in the violence on Sunday.
Deepika was in the city, for the promotion of her upcoming movie, Chhapaak.
The time Deepika was there, JNU student’s union and teachers were having a meeting regarding the protest.
Deepika, however, did not address the crowd. She stood by as former JNUSU president, Kanhaiya Kumar raised slogans and left just as current president Aishe Ghosh, who too was injured in the attack, began to speak.
Just after Deepika’s appearance the social media broke in applaud for the actress, as in this situation when Indian is looking for ‘role models’ almost the entire, Bollywood industry has chosen to remain silent.
