IPL Auctions 2022: 17 Indian Players who have listed under 2 Crore Banner

The much awaited IPL 2022 Auction final list is out with 48 players who have been lifted under the highest price bracket of INR 2 crore, among them are the likes of Shreyas Iyer, Shikhar Dhawan, R Ashwin, Pat Cummins, Trent Boult, Devdutt Padikkal, Ishan Kishan, Suresh Raina, Shardul Thakur to name a few. Approximately 590 players are likely to go under the hammer. The next edition of the IPL player auction will be held over two days – February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru. This time 17 Indian players will go under the hammer with base price of INR 2 crore. Rs 2 crore is the highest reserve price.

The Indian cricket board released a list of 590 cricketers out of which (370 are Indian Players and 220 are overseas players) who will be gone under the hammer during the two- day mega auction.The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released this list of 590 cricketers who will go under the hammer in the Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13.

31 overseas players also featured in this list apart from 17 Indian players. 20 players found themselves in the Rs 1.5 crore bracket while as many as 34 cricketers are in the list with a base price of Rs one crore.In the upcoming IPL season, there will be entry of two new franchises – Lucknow Super Giants and Ahmedabad team apart from the eight existing ones. In a very recent statement, IPL said, “A fierce battle to acquire the services of some of the finest Indian cricketing talent is on the cards when the likes of Shreyas Iyer, Shikhar Dhawan, R Ashwin, Mohammad Shami, Ishan Kishan, Ajinkya Rahane, Suresh Raina, Yuzvendra Chahal, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, etc. go under the hammer,”.

The most interesting event of this auction was that the England PlayerJofra Archer has registered for the upcoming mega auction after initially staying from the event due to his ongoing injury issues. He hasn’t played any competitive cricket since July 2021 and is unlikely to return to action for the next few months. IPL 2022 is likely to be held this year in India.
