Team India on Monday was handed a big blow during the second test against Australia in Melbourne when fast bowler Umesh Yadav hobbled off the field after suffering an injury during the third day of the Boxing Day Test Match.
Umesh seemed to have injured his knee while bowling his fourth over in Australia’s second innings, having dismissed Joe Burns already with a peach of delivery in only his second over.
Umesh was in a lot of pain and called for attention immediately. Umesh went off the field and Mohammed Siraj completed the 8th over. India is already without the services of star pacers Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Shami in the Border Gavaskar series.
While the official word is yet to be out, team and fans would be hoping that the injury is nothing serious as the page was starting getting into an excellent rhythm in his post-lunch spell.
Earlier India was bowled out for 326 In the morning session on Day 3 having built a lead of 131 runs in reply to Australia’s first innings 195.
