In bitter war of words, CPI(M) escalates online attack on Yogi Adityanath, BJP
Amid an ugly war of words between CPI(M) and BJP-RSS in the political space of Kerala, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) launched a fresh attack on Yogi Adityanath and BJP, on healthcare in Uttar Pradesh. Continuing its jibe at the right-wing party, CPI(M), over posts in twitter, raked up the issue of the deaths of several children in a government-run hospital in the UP Chief Minister’s parliamentary constituency, Gorakhpur.
Further hitting out at Adityanath over his comment “Kerala should learn how to run hospitals from UP”, CPI(M) posted an image of the UP CM with his quote and shared a news article on how a UP university hospital used industrial gas as anaesthesia. The Times of India article shared by CPI(M), along with Yogi’s quotes, mentioned that joint investigation team of the Centre and the U.P government found that forbidden industrial-grade gas had been used as anaesthesia to patients undergoing surgery in the Banaras Hindu University’s Sir Sundar Lal Hospital.

CPI(M) latest barb at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader came following Adityanath’s comments on Wednesday where the UP Cm mentioned that there had been “300 deaths due to dengue in a year” in Kerala. With an aim to pitch Hindutva in Kerala, the UP Chief Minister led the saffron party’s fortnight-long ‘Janaraksha Yatra’, launched by BJP president Amit Shah on Tuesday.
Reportedly, Adityanath, addressing supporters at the rally in Kerala said, “In one year, there have been more than 300 deaths in Kerala due to dengue and several hundred deaths due to chikungunya. This shows the CPM government is not handling its responsibility.”
Yogi Adityanath’s remark came in a response to one of CPI(M)’s tweet, slamming the UP government for the death of over 60 children at the Ram Das Medical College Hospital in Gorakhpur. Hitting out at the UP CM, the CPI(M) tweeted, “Today, we invite UP CM Yogi to visit Kerala hospitals to learn how to run hospitals effectively.”

However, claiming that the Gorakhpur hospital tragedy was the first of its kind in Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath said at the Wednesday’s rally, “While Uttar Pradesh effectively checked the menace of dengue and chikungunya, the Left party and its government have failed in providing basic necessities to people in the state.”
