Few days back, Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu was asked for her opinion on the hijab controversy. Talking on which Harnaaz had said that “girls should be allowed to reach their destinations”. She further added, “Let them fly in the sky. Their wings should not be cut-off.” On Wednesday, she visited Chandigarh and during a press event she was asked to comment on the hijab controversy. The 22-year-old Sandhu said, “It`s every girl’s own choice, so no one has the right to speak about how the girls of India should live, and how to dress. She further added, “Those who are doing politics on the issue, are wrong,” she added.
Talking about womehood and their choices, “Even if she is getting dominated by someone, she needs to come and speak. Let her live the way she wants to live. We are women of different cultures and we need to respect each other.” FYI, Some students of Government Girls PU college in the Udupi district of the state in Karnataka on January alleged that they had been barred from attending classes. During the protests, some students claimed they were denied entry into the college for wearing hijab. After the Hijab Row, outrage have spread throughout the country where people having different opinions clashed with each other. However, the petition by students not to ban Hijab was rejected by the Karnataka High Court.
Recently Harnaaz Sandhu is staying in home country after winning hearts of millions by winning the beauty paegnt Miss Universe title. iss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu spoke about being bullied for being either skinny or healthy. The model-actor said she has been suffering from celiac disease but sent out a message of body positivity by stating that she is a girl who believes in her strength even if she is thin or fat, it is her body and she loves herself.
