Former cricketer Kapil Dev unveils his wax statue at New Delhi’s Madame Tussauds

The Madame Tussauds in New Delhi has over 50 wax figures of celebrated personalities from the worlds of sport, music, history, film and TV.

Madame Tussauds, the interactive museum of wax sculptures and one of London’s biggest tourist attractions has 23 branches across the world. New Delhi is the 23rd at the landmark Regal Cinema in Delhi’s Connaught Place.

From Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Mahatma Gandhi, Hollywood superstar Jackie Chan, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and pop icon Lady Gaga are among the host of personalities whose wax figures has been installed.

Now it has the Kapil Dev 58-year-old sportsperson’s wax figure is the latest addition at the Madame Tussauds Delhi location, which has quite a few sports icons. His fans at the museum can also test their cricket skills at a specially dedicated area.

Known as an all-rounder, Kapil made his mark in the history of Indian cricket by leading the national team to the historic Cricket World Cup triumph in 1983

“I’m honored to get my wax figure among such icons at Madame Tussauds Delhi,” Kapil said

He also added “The whole process of making of my figure by Madame Tussauds has been an exciting journey,  and I am fascinated to see the intrinsic details beautifully captured. “I wish Madame Tussauds the best of wishes for the great job that they are putting in. I am also excited to see my figure at the upcoming attraction ”
