Facebook Restricts People To Take Screen Shot On Mobile App.
Women safety has been the most important topic regarding women in India. From politics to Bollywood, there always been debates and concerns about the security for the females. Even the common man’s conversation on the streets often steer towards the escalated and horrendous attacks on women.
Women are harassed not only in the night or evening but also in the day time at their home, working places, or other places like street, club, etc. It is found through the survey that the reason of sexual harassment is the lack of gender-friendly environment and improper functional infrastructure such as consumption of alcohol and drugs in open area, lack of adequate lighting, safe public toilets, sidewalks, lack of effective police service, lack of properly working helpline numbers, etc.
Females are not safe on social media either. Faking for self-benefits is a new trend, and so happens on every social medium such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat.
Facebook among which has taken an interesting step for women safety. Sheryl Sandberg the chief operating officer (COO) of Facebook has recently posted, informing about the initiative taken to help women feel more safe and secure online. She says, “Now people in India will have the option to add protective blue borders and designs to their profile pictures. These act like a guard, blocking people from downloading, sharing, taking screenshots, or sending the photo in a message”.
“We must do all we can to protect women online and off — because when you take care of women, you take care of society”.
Not everyone thinks of women safety, it is appreciable that Facebook took an initiative for the same.
