Dwayne Johnson topped Forbes’ list of world’s highest-paid male actors, with earnings for last 12 months estimated at $89.4 million (nearly ₹640 crore).
That includes his salary and a share of profits from films, $700,000 per episode of ‘Ballers’, and royalties from his line of clothing, shoes and headphones. The star will also pick up his biggest upfront payday to date with Jumanji: The Next Level earning him $23.5m. Next year will also see him star with Emily Blunt in the Disney adventure Jungle Cruise.
Wrestler turned movie star made $89m in the last 12 months, positioning him above Chris Hemsworth and Robert Downey Jr. Dwayne Johnson has been named Hollywood’s highest paid male actor for the second year in a row.
Johnson is followed by Avengers stars Chris Hemsworth and Robert Downey Jr and Akshay Kumar in second and third positions, respectively.
“It has to be audience first. What does the audience want, and what is the best scenario that we can create that will send them home happy?” Johnson told Forbes in 2018.
