Deepika Padukone replaces Kangana Ranaut in Anurag Basu directorial ‘Imali’
The next film project of Anurag Basu, ‘Imali’ tends to replace the actress Kangana Ranaut with Deepika Padukone, as Kangana Ranaut is having date issues, due to which she had to leave the project. As Kangana Ranaut was entangled in the busy schedule of her two films “Manikarnika: Queen of Jhansi” and “Panga”, and even Anurag Basu was busy with his other projects, they hardly got any time to take the things forward.
Kangana Ranaut said, “It’s too early to talk about Imali as we are starting the film around the end of the year. All I can say is that Anurag is my godfather and everything I am today is because of him… I can’t wait to go back to the beginning.” She was introduced in the film industry through a ‘crime-drama’, ‘Gangster’ by Anurag Basu in 2004.
Anurag Basu said that he had approached Deepika Padukone for the role, but he even said that he cannot give a ‘final say’ unless Deepika makes her decision to do the film. Currently, Kangana Ranaut is in London, along with Rajkumar Rao, shooting for Ekta Kapoor’s film ‘Mental Hai Kya”. Deepika is busy in shooting for a film named “Chhapaak”,(a story based on the life of acid-attack survivor-Laxmi Aggarwal).
Though, both the actresses have commendable acting skills, regarding their own world of authenticity. Let us keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.
