Deepika Padukone is an Indian Actress and a former Model. She was born on 5th January 1986 in Copenhagen, Denmark. She is one of the highest paid actresses globally.

She was born to Ujjala Padukone and Prakash Padukone. She has a younger sister named Anisha Padukone. Deepika was romantically linked with Ranbir Kapoor and Cricketer Yuvraj Singh. After a long affair with actor Ranveer Singh, she gets married to him on 14-11-2018.

After pursuing a highly successful modelling career, Deepika branched out into acting. Deepika pursued her acting lessons from the Anupam Kher School of Acting. She was one of the most committed students there. She started by appearing in the music video for the song, Naam Hai Tera Tera from Himesh Reshammiya’s album Aap Kaa Surroor.

Deepika finally made her acting debut with the Kannada film titled Aishwarya starring opposite Upendra in 2006. She made her Bollywood debut in 2007 with Farah Khan’s blockbuster hit Om Shanti Om, where she starred opposite Shahrukh Khan. This was first of her various hit films which followed. She was just 1 film old and offers kept bombarding her soon. She was then seen alongside her then-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor in Bachna Ae Haseeno. this film too was a huge hit and she proved it that she is not just a one film wonder and that she is here to stay. Soon she became an ad world heartthrob as well and was seen in various commercials as well. The following year, she was seen alongside Saif Ali Khan in Imtiaz Ali’s much-acclaimed love story titled Love Aaj Kal. For her performance, she was also nominated for Best Actress. 

Her next few releases after Love Aaj Kal didn’t do well at box office like Karthik Calling Karthik, Break Ke Baad and Aarakshan. However, the lean patch couldn’t last long and she came back with yet another hit in Cocktail. Since then she never looked back and became Bollywood’s number 1 diva. She and Saif by now were looked upon as one of the most sought after an onscreen couple. They both were seen together again in the thriller film Race 2. Then released Ayan Mukherjee’s romantic film titled Yeh Jawani Hain Deewani which was by now her career’s biggest hit film.

She by now became every filmmaker first choice and she finally got the opportunity to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in his film titled Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela. She was cast alongside her rumoured boyfriend & now husband Ranveer Singh in this film. Her performance in this film was heavily praised and needless to say that this film fetched the makers handsome profits. She was then seen in Soorjit Sircar’s Piku alongside veteran actors like Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan. Critics were in awe of her after watching this film and she showed the audience that she can take up any role. 

After already working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, she was once again roped in by the veteran filmmaker in his period film Bajirao Mastani. Her performance in this film fetched her Best Actress Award. Sanjay Leela Bhansali announced yet another periodic film Padmavat and she was once again roped in. This film got delayed but finally released in Jan 2018 and became this year’s highest grosser film. She nailed it with her performance in this film. She received worldwide appreciations for her performance in this film.

Besides Bollywood, she has also worked in a Hollywood film as well. She made her Hollywood debut opposite Vin Diesel in the film titled xXx: Return of Xander Cage in 2017. Her performance was highly praised and has been roped in to reprise her role in the 4th part of xXx franchise.
