“Comedian Munawar Faruqui, Winner of Bigg Boss 17, and Others Detained in Mumbai Hookah Bar Raid”

Munawar Faruqui, the renowned comedian and winner of Bigg Boss 17, found himself among a group of individuals detained following a recent raid at a hookah bar located in Mumbai’s Fort area. The Mumbai Police’s Social Service Branch acted upon receiving a tip-off and conducted a raid at the Sabalan hookah bar situated in Bora Bazaar.

The raid was prompted by suspicions that patrons were allegedly partaking in tobacco-based hookah consumption disguised as herbal hookah usage. Speaking to The Times of India, a police official revealed that the police team moved in based on information suggesting the illicit activity.

The detainees, including Faruqui, were subsequently released after undergoing questioning by the authorities. However, a case was registered against them, and they were released pending further investigation. The police emphasized that if it is confirmed that the accused were indeed using tobacco hookah, they would face charges under the provisions of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act.

This incident has garnered attention due to Faruqui’s prominence as a comedian and his recent victory on the reality television show Bigg Boss 17, sparking discussions about the legal implications and public perception surrounding the matter.
