Breaking: India slams Pakistan for boycotting SAARC meet on COVID19.
Pakistan is always known for its backstabbing nature and this time also it performed the same action. Pakistan denied participation in the COVID19 video conference organized by India among the SAARC countries. Afghanistan, Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Maldives, Pakistan, and India are the nations that comes under the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).
Announcing its boycott of Wednesday’s meeting, Pakistan had said that such interactions would be effective only when organised by the SAARC Secretariat instead of India. Responding today, New Delhi said Pakistan was attempting to bring Covid-19-related discussions under formal SAARC umbrella to “score narrow political goals”.
Government sources said if the interactions are held under the umbrella of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), Pakistan would get a free hand to block India’s initiatives.
India sees initiatives to check Covid-19 spread as efforts to jointly deal with it in SAARC region without being bound by formalities, the sources said further, as per news agency PTI.
